Mission: To design, manufacture and market High-Tech seating aimed for global distribution. This seating will cover many specialised market areas including Transport, Commercial and Domestic. All seats must be exceptionally comfortable with good back and lumbar support as well as fulfilling all standard and ergonomic criteria. The strength to weight ratio must be very high, resulting in considerable fuel savings for the transport industry, and ease of movement when used in the domestic health care industry. All designs are component and system based offering great selection flexibility and low cost servicing. Every seat design must be unquestionable unique, qualifying for patents and design registrations.
Background: The
founder of TecnoSeat Australia Pty Ltd, Johan H Naess first started his seating
design career in 1967 when he was working for a large firm of architects
in Sydney. The early days involved some domestic seating but mainly office
seating. Globally office seating became the most researched and developed
area of seating.
Johan has attended international commercial furniture expeditions regularly
from 1980. He has had great success in commercial seating design and developments
including all gate lounge seating for Qantas. In 1989 he won his first contract
to design and supply seats for 7 RiverCats for Sydney Ferry’s.
Contracts were received from several large Australian Fast Ferry builders
including Incat in Tasmania, as well as projects like “Felix the Cat” for
Austal in WA. Direct export orders followed and these vessels are in service
all over the world. TecnoSeat was started in 1998, at which time Johan also
took on the manufacturing function including the design and development of
new production methods and machinery.
UES (INT'L) PTY LTD and Johan H Naess: After Johan originally had a meeting with the principles of UES to discuss the possibilities on a combined marketing venture; it quickly became evident that the two companies had much to offer one another. TecnoSeat offer’s UES a range of specialised seating products, already complementing their present vast range, innovative and high tech products as well as a manufacturing base and ongoing design and development. UES (INT’L) PTY LTD acquired TecnoSeat in mid 2004, and renamed TecnoSeat (A Division of UES (INT’L) PTY LTD). With their combined forces, the company is further developing new seating designs for the international market that will be revolutionary to many seating market segments.
